ARGH! NBC is now casting for The Wall. Someone please for the love of God tell me what I need to do as a Canadian in order to be able to apply for this show. I want a chance to win $12 million too. :(
Speaking of schedules, the new fall Buzzr schedule is pure crapola. If you eliminate 6-8 a.m.(Blockbusters/Card Sharks), they only have 4 shows and the 2 hr. black/white block(6 hrs. daily). Yep, LMaD(3 hrs.), Match Game(6 hrs.), Feud(6 hrs.), and PYL(1 hr.). 12 eps. a day of Match Game and Feud, and considering they only have about 70 individual shows of each, look out replays. So much for my enjoyment of this new channel.
Actually, there appears to be a bunch of "new" (to Buzzr) episodes starting August 29, too.
Tammy, that Buzzr schedule almost feels like GSN with Harvey Feud, Idiotest, Baggage and Deal or No Deal. Buzzr is disappointing (if your post is right, Tammy). A lot more hours of classic game shows than GSN, but rerun cycles much quicker than GSN mornings.
Just saw a Buzzr ad and they say 'fresh' episodes & new schedule beginning 8/29. With this variety they need a bunch of fresh. I'm surprised they don't pull out a few 'vault' shows to mix it up a little. This schedule will get old, FAST.
Kudos to GSN, its been proven my point that GSN is better with 15 hours than Buzzr is w 24/7 schedule. Buzzr is going to start a new schedule 8/29 and its even more limited than GSN. At least GSN gives us both versions of Card Sharks, Pyramid, Match Game, and Press Your Luck. Pretty much Buzzr is Family Feud, Match Game, and Let's Make A Deal, and panel shows. Not much to offer for 24/7 operation. There is basically little love for Jim Perry on Buzzr. He only gets 4 episodes a week (2 Card Sharks and 2 Sale Of The Century). GSN however airs 5 episodes of Jim within their 30 block episode of classics. GSN always showed Jim Perry love. They aired the entire run of Card Sharks at one point or another and even aired Sale Of The Century during the time they weren't running Card Sharks. Then when Sale's lease expired within 2 months, Card Sharks was back. Jim was included on marathons on GSN, special promos, they even announced his passing (10 seconds, but still mentioned it). I just feel Buzzr doesn't care about Jim Perry's fanbase and I am quite frankly grown tired of it. The only lease I care about is GSN's now. GSN gives us 5 months of Card Sharks whereas Buzzr has barely given us 2. I mean if you love Press Your Luck, you'll love Buzzr. Otherwise, stick with GSN. At least an even playing field with the classics. Not overdone love for one show and nothing for another.
"Pretty much Buzzr is Family Feud, Match Game, and Let's Make A Deal, and panel shows."I have to say I would have been surprised in the beginning of 2015, when the idea of Buzzr was lifted off the ground, that the criticism of the network would come from the game show traditionalists. But today, I can see why. Buzzr has already been a slight disappointment (but definitely with some excitement at some points with some special programming), but the new schedule coming 8/29 seems to really tick a lot of you off.
Dawson Feud on Buzzr is basically Harvey Feud on GSN. I hope Buzzr knows sooner or later that NOT everyone loves FF. The channel is giving us the middle finger to us game show fans. Promising 40,000+ episodes of every classic Fremantle owned game show and it's like it was all a lie. Instead we get 4 shows with limited episodes. I complain about GSN's schedule being stale at times, but at least they respect the classics, even if it's only 3 hours a day.
Its truly awful what Buzzr has become. GSN also gives more episodes of their classics. I have seen the same episodes from Card Sharks 1978 for months (only 2 months worth) and GSN has 5 months of the current lease of Card Sharks 1979. GSN's episodes also are a continuous flow. When Buzzr plays a show, you could have one week episodes from May 1978 and then next week June 1978. GSN only has to skip episodes cause the master tapes of the episode either suck or can't be digitized. I think a couple of Card Sharks 1979 episodes are.
GSN may have done a small tribute to Perry but they still never did (and never will do) a proper marathon to him.Folks I just have very mixed emotions for the classic game show community along with its fan base for now.
For the small tribute to Jim Perry's death, are you referring to the GSN tweet?I'll keep saying it: A big GSN disappointment last year was no Perry tribute. I'm not sure how hard it would have been to air four hours of Perry Card Sharks and/or Sale of the Century on a weekday morning 8am-12pm.
I think That I was talking about the mini-tribute on TV during episodes of Perry's Card Sharks in the morning.Which although it maybe a little paid respect to him it is also turns out as a d*ck move as well for them at the same time.I never thought about the tweet from GSN in my head anyway sorry about that.
