|Dick Clark's The $25,000 Pyramid returns|
to GSN this coming Monday at 10:30am ET.
I initially suggested that the ultimate reason for the return of The $25,000 Pyramid is GSN observed the ratings the past four weeks and was not satisfied with how the three-a-morning Card Sharks was performing. It was then suggested by another user that within the past month, GSN could have been negotiating a deal to acquire The $25,000 Pyramid and talks may have been ongoing. Another poster suggested that there could have been delays in converting the episodes to air for modern television's sake.
This logic downplays my theory with the three-a-morning Card Sharks getting too tiresome. We only saw ratings once over the past four weeks for the morning lineup without The $25,000 Pyramid. Card Sharks had healthy numbers in all three airings, but this was only one day.
I now figure throughout the spring, GSN put off this new lease for The $25,000 Pyramid with other, larger focuses on Winsanity, Idiotest, Skin Wars and so on. I am also not sure how long "converting the episodes" could have taken, considering GSN has done this many times before with shows dating back to a 1950's airdate. That claim could stand since The $25,000 Pyramid episodes coming to GSN Monday are "New to GSN".
No matter how they got here, I am glad The $25,000 Pyramid (particularly the never before seen episodes) are back on GSN.
