GSN pre-primetime ratings 4/21 for 'Family Feud'

GSN Ratings for Thursday, April 21st (All Times ET); (with percentage of viewers under 50 years of age):
6:00pm Family Feud: 428,000 total viewers/69,000 18-49 viewers (16.1%)
6:30pm Family Feud: 567,000 total viewers/129,000 18-49 viewers (22.8%)
7:00pm Family Feud: 565,000 total viewers/170,000 18-49 viewers (30.1%)
7:30pm Family Feud: 491,000 total viewers/129,000 18-49 viewers (26.2%)

Summary: BIG numbers for Feud reruns that have been run through literally 10 or more times on GSN since March 2012 (for the 2010-11 episodes, which currently air at 6pm and 6:30pm) and March 2013 (2011-12 episodes, which currently air at 7pm and 7:30pm). These episodes have been rerun abused in this exact timeslot for the past 3-4 years and still get mighty strong numbers. How? Not quite sure, besides the obvious fact that GSN viewers must love Steve Harvey Family Feud.

For the ratings themselves, typically we see a general build over the two hours. We did see a build above from 6pm to 6:30pm to 7pm, then a sizable decline at 7:30pm. I am not quite sure what the 7:30pm decline is all about and is typically uncommon. The percentage of viewers under 50 years old starts weak coming out of very old-skewing GSN daytime to much younger by the 7pm hour. You could approximate the above Feud block starts out with a median viewer age at/over 70 then falls down to about 50-55 by 7pm and 7:30pm.

Overall: 6-8pm is the strongest two hours of programming on the schedule. GSN would be foolish to ever mess with it.

Ratings will only show strong growth as GSN expands the 2-hour nightly Family Feud block into 3+ hours, adding Steve Harvey Family Feud to the 8pm and 8:30pm weeknight slot effective tomorrow. That mighty block leads into more Family Feud on all except Wednesday, and a Skin Wars rerun leading into a new episode of Skin Wars on Wednesday.
