Last night's (1/15) 'Chain Reaction': Huge scoring leads and BIG money

The following post has limited spoilers from both of last night's (January 15th) Chain Reaction episodes. I just wish to point the following out for the sake of what is very likely two of the biggest leads in Chain Reaction history and also what is likely the biggest cash giveaway in this version of Chain Reaction:

In one of the episodes last night, a team went into the betting round up $2,200 to $800. That leading team would win the game $2,500 to $0. The team would go on to win a total of $7,500 (+$5,000 in the end game). I believe this is the most money this version of Chain Reaction has given away to a duo of contestants.

In another episode last night, a team led $1,800 to $0 at one point during the main game. That leading team completed the three rounds with a $2,700 to $300 lead. The leading team would end up winning the main game $3,000 to $0 (they had $3,300 at one point). This team had the chance to win even more than in the other episode with a potential $8,000 waiting at the end of the bonus round. However, they did not win the bonus round.

If there was one rule I could change from this version of Chain Reaction, I would keep an additional $5,000 in the bonus round on top of whatever was won in the main game. For the change, I would reward $100 per word solved in the bonus round for one to six words solved (and the seventh being the additional $5,000 prize).

  1. I love how you say 'limited' spoilers and then pretty much give the entire game away.

    1. It's a very amateur blog. He doesn't know any better.

    2. "I love how you say 'limited' spoilers and then pretty much give the entire game away."

I did not say which team was which and which episode was which. I warned with the spoiler tag up front not to read the post if you have not seen last night's episodes yet and wish to.

  2. Totally agree with the $100 per word in the Super Chain rule.

Maybe they can also be like Idiotest and if they get all seven they win a flat $10,000.

  3. Schmolik: I also agree with the idea of a flat $10K top prize on Chain Reaction, but I doubt GSN would raise that if the show does get renewed. I do not believe the top prize status affects the audience in mass, but I could be wrong.

  4. the women on those 2 episodes were extremely annoying and i shut both off.
