GSN Primetime Ratings 12/22: 'The Chase' and 'Family Feud' strong

While it may be Christmas Day, we do have ratings coming in from this past Tuesday's (12/22) primetime lineup, which contained Family Feud and The Chase. The numbers below will also include the percentage of the audience that viewed each show under the age of 50.

Tuesday 12/22 GSN Primetime (All Times ET; Source: TVMediaInsights (Douglas Pucci)):
7:30pm Family Feud: 422,000 total viewers/102,000 18-49 viewers; 24% of audience <50
8:00pm The Chase (rerun): 425,000 total viewers/65,000 18-49 viewers; 15% of audience <50
9:00pm Family Feud: 412,000 total viewers/68,000 18-49 viewers; 17% of audience <50
9:30pm Family Feud: 483,000 total viewers/108,000 18-49 viewers; 22% of audience <50
10:00pm Family Feud: 452,000 total viewers/121,000 18-49 viewers; 27% of audience <50
10:30pm Family Feud: 514,000 total viewers/147,000 18-49 viewers; 29% of audience <50
Primetime average (8-11pm only): 452,000 total viewers/96,000 18-49 viewers

Summary: This was a strong night in total viewers for GSN and also a good showing in 18-49's. We have seen stronger numbers from the 7:30pm Family Feud primetime lead-in, but GSN is definitely happy with what was above tonight before The Chase. The Chase did well overall for a rerun. Sure, it was the oldest skewing show of the night but still attracted more 18-49's than a lot of the rest of the primetime lineup and performed well in total viewers. Then, as for 9-11pm, we can see why GSN airs so much Family Feud. With a general rise in total viewers over the 2-hour period and a constant, great rise in 18-49's, Steve Harvey Family Feud is around on the GSN schedule in mass amounts for a long time to come.

Overall, GSN should be very happy with the above 18-49 and total viewer numbers.
