GSN primetime average (8-11pm only): 331,000 total viewers; 111,000 18-49 viewers

The entire eight-episode first season of Steampunk'd has averaged 278,000 total viewers and 114,000 18-49 viewers.

Last night's Steampunk'd finale marks a six-episode high for Steampunk'd (highest rated episode in total viewers since August 26th) and also the highest rated episode in total viewers since Steampunk'd was moved to the 8pm timeslot. It also marks the third straight week Steampunk'd has risen in total viewers.

ShowBuzz reports Steampunk'd earned a 0.09 in the 18-49 household rating, which should equal about 115,000 18-49 viewers. ShowBuzz also reports that both episodes of Idiotest received a 0.08 18-49 household rating, which should equal about 105,000 18-49 viewers. We will confirm these numbers once we get full ratings later this evening.

  1. Boy, Steampunk'd didnt hold nothing back. They showed what a comeback is after being at nearly the bottom.

    1. Is this slight sarcasm for Steampunk'd? Since its crash on September 2nd (173K total/64K 18-49), Steampunk'd has shown a general upward trend. Still, not the best numbers overall but rather impressive 18-49's and young-skewing to GSN's liking.

    2. I just thought of this. Since Hellevator I think is not appropriate for the 8 pm slot, here's how I would do the lineup.

8 to 9 pm: Idiotest (new)
9 to 10 pm: Harvey Feud
      10 pm: Hellevator (new)

Idiotest is more family friendly than Hellevator and is a better show IMO. Still try out Hellevator though.

    3. When is GSN trying to be family friendly?
      Bunch of nonsense I say.

  2. Off topic, but did any of you guys see this news that came out:

"The Game Show Network, jointly owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment and DirecTV, appears to be losing a big contest at the Federal Communications Commission.

"On Thursday, the FCC's Enforcement Bureau issued its recommendations after a trial this past summer where GSN attempted to demonstrate that its repositioning on Cablevision's service from a wide tier to a premium sports tier amounted to program carriage discrimination in violation of Section 616 of the Communications Act of 1934.

"The Enforcement Bureau believes that the presiding judge should conclude that Cablevision hasn't violated the law and shouldn't mandate broader carriage of GSN."

Looks like GSN is going to lose this battle.

    1. My goodness. Their hands must've been caught in the cookie jar. That does not spell the end of GSN elsewhere.

    2. I polished the Cablevision nonsense off in a faux tweet. It's a nothing burger, a stupid case that has dragged on for 50 years (slight exaggeration). GSN is rolling to its most watched year ever, by a wide margin. The network just hit 80 million available households and is close to being fully distributed. Who cares about this ancient spat over tier placement?

As for Steampunk'd, anything that can get 100K in 18-49 has a chance for renewal on GSN. The downside is that the show has no rerun value - it's a cliche that reality reruns badly, as GSN has found out several times - and the total viewer numbers are marginal at best. The show may be right on the bubble for another season.

    3. Casey, the current Cablevision-GSN dispute started in 2011, but it feels like it has been fifty years. Over the time GSN has not been available on Cablevision, ratings have gone up and GSN has been available in more households, as you said. So GSN not on Cablevision is not a big deal. They're doing fine without Cablevision and GSN should stop wasting time and money on the issue.

(I also think Cablevision is more in the right from everything I have read).

Steampunk'd may be up for renewal with GSN's poor production slate. Total viewer numbers stink, but the 18-49's in five out of eight episodes were above 100K. Steampunk'd just needs the Skin Wars lead-out next year. I think you're right to say Steampunk'd is "on the bubble", but it could be more towards renewal than cancellation if Hellevator bombs and/or skews old.

    4. QUIT promoting your own site on this one. NO ONE, and I mean, no one, as in N-O-B-O-D-Y cares that YOU made some "faux tweet." No one gives a flying fart that your fat self faux tweeted, whatever that means.

    5. And Mr. Casey "holier than thou" Abell will say that your argument holds no water, because you're anonymous and he replies to posts with his real name. Don't worry about him. He's not happy unless he's arguing with someone.

    6. LOL. I know, right! I really don't care what that fat bullfrog thinks. Surely he knows that just because he uses his real name doesn't make his OPINION fact.
