Comments: A strong four nights in ratings, especially Sunday (the night filled with all Family Feud). There are still no signs that Family Feud is weakening as GSN's number one program. Despite the Monday night decline in the 10pm hour (which were still numbers GSN will certainly take), Family Feud may be stronger than ever. The only two shows that performed on the weak side (and just about equally) were reruns of The Chase and Idiotest. Although a big fall from Family Feud on Saturday night, I will give Idiotest credit rising a little at 10:30pm. It's not total doom and gloom for either The Chase or Idiotest, but I really wonder how long those two will last there in reruns if those numbers stay the way they are. At least Chain Reaction had more respectable rerun numbers last Friday.

Additionally, the primetime average for August 24-30 has been provided: 460,000 total viewers in primetime/324,000 viewers total day. This week's primetime average is up 6% in primetime and up 3% in total day versus August 17-23.

All Times Eastern

  1. I think Feud on Saturday nights might be expanded to 11 pm. Because while the Idiotest reruns did okay, it dropped big from its Feud lead in. I wonder if The Chase will get removed from Monday nights now since Chase is on a break or they might keep it there. With Idiotest ratings lately, the show could have a bad ending. Not saying I hope the show gets canceled, but I have a feeling that Idiotest won't end its season on a high note. With Steampunkd pretty much not getting a second season, Idiotest and Chain Reaction are still alive for additional seasons. The only thing that can get them more seasons is if Hellevator completely crashes and burns.

I honestly think Hellevator will be a success for GSN because for starters, you have Jason Blum on board as producer. Also, the show reminds me of Fear Factor without all the grossness. Third, if you're a diehard horror fan, this show is for you. And lastly, it looks intriguing. If Hellevator has American Bible Challenge like numbers on its first night, Idiotest looks dead in the water along with Chain Reaction.

    1. I don't think GSN is making any primetime changes with the latest record numbers in total viewers and all the other demos they have been getting, as noted in the press release earlier this week.

  2. Wow, if GSN didn't have hundreds of Feud repeats their ratings would be in the toilet. Feud props them up like no other network. Lose Feud and it's almost goodbye GSN. I don't know how Feud stays so high w/ the amount of plays it gets per week.

    1. Tammy, I just think Family Feud's rerun value has always been high. The questions and families can be unrecognizable, even to a hard-core Feud viewer.

Also take into account there are 505 episodes of Steve Harvey Family Feud GSN currently has at their disposal and the version in itself is hotter than hot right now.

    2. Back in the day, Family Feud used to be a clean and respectable franchise...Before the evil powers of Steve Harvey and Fremantle added "incest" and "misogyny" into the recipe in order to get those desperately annoying "ratings" they deserved.

Proof that once again Fremantle doesn't care about Mark Goodson and Bill Todman

    3. The average of the non Feud shows from your list is less than 300k. The Feuds listed avg. well over 500k. Yep, if GSN lost Feud they might as well shut 'er down.

    4. Let's face it folks, whether you want to admit it or not, this version and the franchise as a whole has become a parody of its former self so much that SNL and Kenan Thompson are not even needed anymore to do it for them.

also did you guys know that they even released a mobile video app based on this version of Feud for iOS and Android devices since 2012?

I get it if it was a game app for iOS and Android for its "Interactive" play along as if you were on the show which is fine. But a mobile video app for the show is one of the most dumbest idea for the franchise ever. Hell, not even The Price is Right would be that desperate to do a drastic move like that.

  3. GSN should put nothing but Love Triangle in these slots, would get over 10 million viewers with those shows

    1. WORST...IDEA...FROM...YOU...EVER!

    2. Nothing on GSN will ever get over ten million viewers. If the heavily promoted American Bible Challenge, Skin Wars, Steampunk'd and Dancing with the Stars reruns couldn't, I don't think four-year old cancelled Love Triangle reruns would.

    3. Thank You Scott Rahner, That's What I'm Talking about!

you see what I mean Wendy Williams #1 Fan heck not even the one-year old Mind of a Man can get ten million viewers either and you know how every GSN viewer hated that show.

  4. again with no negro riots this past week ratings didn't take a hit.
