August 31st-September 6th GSN advanced schedule released

Per GameShowFollies/Casey Abell, GSN has sent out the August 31-September 6 schedule with multiple changes:

Changes (also noted here):
*GSN's Whammy! will air weekdays at 11:30am; replacing Deal or No Deal. GSN's Whammy! now has a double run in the 11am hour each weekday.
*Dog Eat Dog will air weekdays at 4pm (except Wednesday, where there is a Steampunk'd rerun); replacing Deal or No Deal
*A Skin Wars: Fresh Paint rerun will air Monday at 2am; replacing Baggage
*A Steampunk'd rerun (from 8/26) will air Wednesday at 8pm; replacing Skin Wars: Fresh Paint
*Steve Harvey Family Feud will air Wednesday at 11pm and 11:30pm (where Skin Wars: Fresh Paint had a rerun for one week).
*Steve Harvey Family Feud will air Thursday at 12am and 12:30am (where Skin Wars: Fresh Paint had a rerun for one week).
*The Newlywed Game will return to Friday latenight at 1am and 1:30am; replacing Family Feud
*Baggage will return to Saturday latenight at 2am and 2:30am
*Family Feud (Karn) returns to Sunday at 12pm and 12:30pm (where Skin Wars: Fresh Paint had a rerun)

Additionally, Steampunk'd, Idiotest, The Chase and Chain Reaction all continue in their respective new run slots on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
All Times Eastern

  1. Karn Feud has to go pretty soon

  2. At least GSN is 'doubling the run'.

  3. Karn Feud just sits there. Two solo weekend daytime slots. GSN figures there's nothing to lose. It's either that or more Harvey Feud

  4. The Dog was the biggest surprise to me. I assume the short-run show is just a stopgap until GSN figures out what to do with the 4:00 PM hour.

  5. I do realize that any show between 9am and noon are competing with LMAD and/or TPIR which is probably a losing battle on GSN's end, especially between 10-11 when LMAD airs on the East Coast and TPIR airs in the Central and Pacific.

That being said, if the $25,000 Pyramid has to be in a "death slot", why not put it at 10am or 9am which is the time we remember growing up watching at? It always feels weird for me to watch Pyramid at 10:30.

  6. Karn Feud will probably be gone again in 2016, but if GSN have their way, it will be for good. Let's face it, those episodes are really old. His last episode aired nearly 10 years ago. He's an old dinosaur now. O Hurley will more likely be gone permanently after 2016 too. His episodes are getting old as well. Sure his last show aired in 2010, but that was 5 years ago. In 2016, looks like Harvey will be the only Feud host on the network. If GSN sees 2030, does that mean Karn and O Hurley will be considered classics? If GSN wanted to do something with the 4 pm slot, put a double run of Catch 21 there. Also, Woolery Lingo would be a great fit, although I think that show might not show up again.

    1. I wouldn't mind Chuck returning to the schedule. Been a while since Lingo has been on the schedule. Anything is better than more Feud.

  7. more crap i won't watch. guess with no black riots scheduled for next week negro ff will have high ratings again.

  8. Just discovered the reason why Whammy! doubles up in the morning and Dog Eat Dog comes back is because the rights to the syndicated version of Deal or No Deal expire soon. GSN may get them back someday if they need space to fill in the schedule and there is still interest.

  9. They should have placed a double run of the NBC edition at 4 and 5 instead of just 5.
    NO thanks to DED.
