Renewal odds 6/1/15: 'The Chase', 'Idiotest', 'Baggage On The Road', 'It Takes a Church', 'Lie Detectors'

The Chase

No changes here. Just eagerly awaiting new episodes, especially with seeing new Chain Reaction promos.

Chance of renewal: 99%

Numbers for Idiotest were strong last week, one of the strongest showing this season thus far in total viewers (18-49's were good too). This season thus far, Idiotest has averaged a healthy 379,000 total viewers and an even stronger 113,000 18-49 viewers (for GSN 18-49 standards). GSN has also added another hour of Idiotest to Wednesday primetime (replacing Lie Detectors). GSN really likes the show but I am still not liking the dips Idiotest has week-to-week from lead-in Family Feud.

Chance of renewal: 85% (flat)

Baggage On The Road

As strangely nothing yet has happened here, plus Baggage On The Road GSN OnDemand reruns getting pulled off the OnDemand channel (now down to two from many more in the past months), it's doom and gloom here.

I still will never rule out a Baggage revival some day.

Chance of renewal: 1% (down 4% from last week)

It Takes a Church

Also suspiciously nothing, just like all other GSN cancelled originals.

Chance of renewal: 1% (flat)

Lie Detectors

True fact: Lie Detectors has had both the worse start for a GSN original in network history and the worse primetime stretch in ratings since the network's first few years on the air. Lie Detectors has averaged 182,000 total viewers in eighteen episodes and 184,000 total viewers in its five-week primetime run. GSN has pulled that primetime run and Lie Detectors altogether for, well, we don't know.

Chance of renewal: 1% (flat)

  1. I have DirecTv and GSN has been added for on demand, and only one episode of BOTR is up there. Meanwhile, there are 10 episodes of Idiotest listed. ITAC is still there, with the last 3 episodes there. I still think that it will not return, with the average they put up this season. Lie Detectors was probably the absolute worst show that GSN has ever aired. Their ratings were horrible, even Dancing With The Stars, which was GSN's worst acquisition at that time, did better than this show did. Air the remaining 22 episodes in late night with a 4 episode block every night, and a 2 episode block for the last 2 episodes. I think we own Mind Of A Man an apology. That show had much better ratings. Unlike Lie Detectors, MOAM had a decent stay on the schedule until mid to late October last year.

    1. ....and take into account Lie Detectors never made it to GSN OnDemand. GSN didn't waste their own time.

Also, Lie Detectors, in its six-week run on the GSN schedule never had the airtime Mind of a Man had. MOAM was just about everywhere in reruns at one point and still had a number of slots through the summer/fall 2014
