GSN primetime average hits ten-week high; total day average sees nine-week high Pucci (@SonoftheBronx Twitter) has tweeted ratings for GSN from the week of May 25-31. The primetime (8-11pm ET all seven days) and total day (8am-4am ET all seven days) have been released, which are 460K/322K.

This is a ten-week high for the primetime average. The primetime average has not been this high since the week of March 16-22 (when it was at 459K viewers). The total day average hit a nine-week high last week, which has not been this high since March 23-29 (when it was at 326K viewers).

A lot of the high ratings can be placed on Idiotest from Wednesday and Family Feud from Sunday of last week. Idiotest averaged 455,000 total viewers in the 8pm hour on Wednesday. Family Feud averaged 732,000 total viewers over the three hours in primetime on Sunday. Week to week, Idiotest and Family Feud are at the top of ratings for GSN while The Chase reruns perform well but much better in new runs (which return July 16th).

  1. I think you're giving too much credit to Idiotest and too little to Family Feud. Idiotest's numbers were LOWER than the average. I know you kiss that show's butt so much, but that doesn't change the facts...or the numbers.

If Fox picks up Idiotest as reported on the Game Show Guru site, will they still be able to broadcast all the eps they have in the can?

  3. I do kiss up to Idiotest because I really like the show. I really like The Chase too, but there has not been anything to say about The Chase since March besides this week's premiere date announcement. Family Feud does deserve the credit, especially Sunday night. But Idiotest gave GSN great numbers too last week.

FOX picking up Idiotest? I have not heard that one. FOX would probably have to pay GSN big bucks since Idiotest is a great performer for them right now. I do not see GSN giving Idiotest away.

    1. Besides, the 5th Grader revival is not a big success for FOX as it is right now.

The comment was linked to a zap2it article that Fox was considering a pick up of the 'highly rated Idiotest' currently airing on GSN. I'll try to search it out(this was last Wed. or Thurs.) and post the link. It wasn't much more than what I've said, but it would offer validity. Could GSN work out a dual agreement where Fox could broadcast as a summer series and GSN continue w/ eps as well, maybe not until the Fox run ends their season? And judging from how poorly 5th Grader has done, they are probably looking for a quick fix.

    3. Thanks, Wallace. Please try to find the article and post here.

  4. Scott Rahner's love for Idiotest is similar to that of Steve Beverly's love to Betty White.
Google or Bing search Steve Beverly's interview with Betty White and you will see what I mean.
