Official: 'Lie Detectors' coming to GSN Monday, April 20th

Only from on-air promotions (and no word via press release), Game Show Network will launch new game show series Lie Detectors on Monday, April 20th at 6:30pm ET.

As described in the 2015-16 upfronts, Lie Detectors is a game show where audience members will get a chance to figure out, from a panel of comedians, who is lying and who is really telling the truth.

From the upfronts:  "In each round, a panel of three comedians presents to a studio audience outrageous “facts,” but only one of them is telling the truth. The audience member who guesses which comic is telling the truth correctly the most, and in the fastest time, earns a chance to play for the cash prize."

Lie Detectors is a half-hour game show and is hosted by Australian comedian Rove McManus. All episodes have been filmed. At last week's upfronts, along with Steampunk'd, Lie Detectors was green-lit for a series run.

Steve Harvey's Family Feud currently occupies the 6:30pm ET timeslot and has since June 2012. It is assumed that Steve Harvey's Family Feud will remain at 6pm, 7pm and 7:30pm ET as lead-in/lead-out to Lie Detectors.

Official GSN promotion for Lie Detectors can be found on Facebook.

Lie Detectors has official Facebook and Twitter pages. There is also an official GSNTV page, which still says "Coming Soon" for premiere date.

An additional promotion video for Lie Detectors can be found on the GSN website.

Given I have not watched a second of Game Show Network today, a personal thank you to the commenters on other entries who first spotted the news on the official Lie Detectors premiere.

  1. They REALLY want this show to be successful. Sandwiching it between 2 Harvey Feud's when he is near the highest in terms of viewers.

  2. "Steve Harvey's Family Feud currently occupies the 6:30pm ET timeslot and has since June 2012." Is there any other show on GSN that's occupied a timeslot longer?

  3. Catch 21 has aired at 2pm since January 2010.

    1. Harvey Feud is typically at its highest 7-8pm weeknights ET, in late primetime and Sunday nights.
