The other day Family Feud tweeted big news was coming for this Tuesday, in other words, today. We also highlighted the tweet here at GameShowNetworkNews.
The speculation was about an extension on Steve Harvey's contract, a new host, changes in gameplay and/or a long-term renewal for the show. Turns out, it was just about high ratings. Family Feud, during the week of January 25-February 1, scored a 7.2 household rating. This is a series high for Family Feud, now one-tenth behind Jeopardy! and four-tenths behind Wheel of Fortune.
How far can Family Feud keep going in the ratings? My bet is for this year, the 2014-15 television season, Family Feud is at its peak right now and will declining back into the 6's in the Spring and then 4's and 5's later on when the late spring/summer reruns roll around.
Remember, five years ago right now Family Feud, in its last season with John O'Hurley, was averaging a 1.4 HH rating week-to-week, and Family Feud could have been cancelled.
