Renewal odds #2: 'Idiotest', 'Baggage On The Road', 'The Chase'

We got to see the first week of ratings from Baggage On The Road, and now it is time to see what chance Baggage On The Road stands for getting a second season.

The two new episodes of Idiotest averaged a fairly high 437,000 total viewers in its return. Still doesn't matter, Idiotest has already been renewed for a second season.

Chance of renewal (for Season 2): 100%

Baggage On The Road

Despite my personal review, Baggage On The Road debuted to good but not great numbers, averaging 379,000 total viewers over the hour. The first episode only got 348K total viewers, which is below the norm for new originals and even for GSN's primetime average. In fact, 348K for a debut episode should have GSN worrying. In recent GSN history (since the beginning of 2011), no GSN original has debuted that low (Love Triangle debuted to 367K on 4/11/11). The most uplifting sign of additional episodes for Baggage On The Road is the half-hour to half-hour rise of 62,000 total viewers. But once again, good but not great numbers overall.

Chance of renewal (for Season 2): 35% (down 10% from prior week)

The Chase

Nothing has changed. Exact same as last time.

Chance of renewal (for Season 5): 85%

  1. Off-topic but the new schedule for January 25-February 1 is up on Game Show Follies with the new episode of The Chase.

  2. It's nice to see that all "New to GSN" runs of the 8-11am weekday block continue.

GSN must not have faith in reruns for The Chase. Sunday 11am is the only slot I saw around the schedule. It would be nice if The Chase took one of Feud's slots, but the numbers for Harvey Feud must still be up there.

Baggage On The Road can't be performing too badly in reruns if it keeps its Thursday and Saturday primetime slots.

  4. Match Game 78 airs the 25th starting with episode #1216. Grumpy Richard Dawson stars! haha

  5. The schedule is out for the rest of January, Bill Bellamy's Let's Ask America is not there.
