Judging from the publicity photo, it looks like a rehash of moments seen over and over again. Whether it was on Game Show Moments Gone Bananas or Faux Pause or TVs Most Outrageous moments, this looks like same clips with different host commentary from an unfunny host.Ben Gleib = modern day Ray Combs.
I would agree tonight's special may be similar to Stein's 5-episode special but there are only so many game show moments that can be shown.
At the bottom row, the screenshot from the left is Family Feud, and this Game Show moment is taken from the episode Phillips vs. Cunningham, which aired in 1983.
You are obsessed with Family Feud.
Is that the episode in which Dawson asked the players to name something they lie about (ie: their age) and then the players kept saying random ages?Funny the first few times. Lame by the 100th time.
I enjoyed it. It featured a lot of classic clips.
I gave the show a rave review on Game Show Follies for its fresh, irreverent look at familiar clips. It was cheesy as hell, which it should have been.
I have not seen last night's special yet but I expect it to be a lot like Game Show Moments Gone Bananas.
Were the comedians a waste?
I liked the comics. Especially when they rooted for Betty White to destroy the toaster.
The comics were all ridiculous nobodies. It felt more like they were making fun of all the clips rather than letting the viewers enjoy them. I didn't think condescending Ben Dweeb helped matters too much either.
I didn't watch it, because for this reason. It was going to be the same old clips that were shown on old game show blooper specials, although I guess there were some that were never shown before. Also, these so called "comics" who I have never heard of pretty much made fun of them and not letting the viewers enjoy them.I think this is somewhat similar to truTV's World's Dumbest, where comics would make fun of everyday situations that involved people doing something stupid. Except on there, they actually had comics we had heard of, including Danny Bonoduche, whatever his last name is, and Loni Love.
You mean Danny Bona-douche! Anyway, I completely agree. It was just like one of those Tru-TV shows where the comic's comments, whether funny or not, are focused on just as much as the clips themselves. What I thought was most stupid was when they were making fun of how "creepy" the announcer whispering the password was. Just ridiculous.
I think it would have been enjoyable without the comics. On Game Shows Gone Bananas, they actually let viewers enjoy the classic hilarity. They kept constantly interrupting the clips just to get their reaction.
The show was crap.I second that it was like TruTV's "Dumbest" type shows. Then again, TruTv ripped off VH1's "I love...." with the needless commentary and unknown comics.I bet/hope the show bombed in the ratings.
