Tonight on Game Show Network, The Chase with Brooke Burns and Mark Labbett will air NEW tonight (Tuesday) at 8pm ET. The Chase is currently at the halfway point of its third season, with the seventh of thirteen episodes airing tonight. The season finale is scheduled for late September.
The second week of Idoitest with Ben Gleib airs tonight at 9pm ET and 9:30pm ET.
The Chase has not had the hot ratings some expected, where the first six episodes this season have averaged 535,000 total viewers (494K, 534K, 578K, 531K, 558K, 515K). The Chase ended its second season back in February with 818,000 viewers. The week before that The Chase delievered a series high 827,000 viewers.
The only problem I see with The Chase is the solid fact that it is a summer show airing at an early timeslot, 8pm ET/5pm PT, where the general population is outside enjoying the warmer weather. A better slot for The Chase should have been 9pm ET. The extra hour would have helped, but The Chase has still performed very well.
I do predict, in the long term over the next four weeks as summer unofficially ends, The Chase will climb in total viewers and reach a season high (above 578K viewers). The Chase, thereafter will not hit season lows (will remain above 494,000 viewers) but will struggle against network fall T.V. premieres.
Last week The Chase delievered 515,000 total viewers (71K 18-49). Idiotest then dropped 11% from The Chase to 461,000 total viewers (143K 18-49), then 442,000 total viewers (157K 18-49). What are your predictions for this week?
My predictions for tonight:
8pm The Chase: 524,000 total; 89K 18-49
9pm Idiotest: 438,000 total; 137K 18-49
9:30pm Idiotest: 418,000 total; 135K 18-49
