Game Show Network has renewed two of their originals, The Chase and It Takes a Church for additional seasons.
Game Show Network has renewed The Chase for a fourth season, which will contain twenty episodes, up from the thirteen in Season 3, eleven in Season 2 and six in Season 1 (Season 1 and 2 both originally had eight ordered). The Chase is expected to premiere its new season in January 2015.
It Takes a Church has been renewed for a second season, which will consist of eight episodes. It Takes a Church will premiere its new season in 2015.
Earlier today it was reported here at GameShowNetworkNews that Mind of a Man had been cancelled and The Chase was renewed. Meanwhile, faith-based programming like American Bible Challenge and It Takes a Church were on the bubble after disappointing ratings. It Takes a Church has now been renewed. The status of American Bible Challenge is still unknown.
The Chase has averaged 544,000 total viewers in the first seven episodes this season, its third season. In its latest new run this past Tuesday, The Chase hit a season high with 596,000 total viewers, up 14% in viewers week to week. The first seven episodes, on average are up 11% from Season 2 to Season 3.
It Takes a Church averaged 368,000 total viewers in its first season, which consisted of eight episodes.
