Minor Updates: 'Idiotest', 'The Line', 'Minute to Win It'

A few updates this Wednesday...

GSN has officially moved the Idiotest premiere an hour later on its original premiere night, Tuesday, August 12th. Originally Idiotest was scheduled at 8pm; now GSN will use The Chase at 8pm (ET) to boost Idiotest in its new timeslot at 9pm (ET). The first season of Idiotest consists of 40 half-hour episodes.

The Line, with hosts Jeff Davis and Candace Bailey is set to premiere in November. No specific night or date has been released or press release. The Line filmed this past weekend, Monday and Tuesday in Nashville. The Line, at this point in time, has five episodes.

On a side-note, Guy Fieri's Minute to Win It has exited the schedule--and no one has noticed or cared. Guy Fieri's version last appeared on the schedule the weekend of July 5th and 6th, then was taken by The Chase. In fact, Apolo Ohno's version of Minute has been reduced to one slot a weekend, Sunday afternoons at 2pm ET. GSN seems to be dumping unwanted, aging shows, like Minute to Win It, Dog Eat Dog and Richard Karn's Family Feud to weekend afternoons. The same strategy was previously used in 2011-2012 with hour-long Deal or No Deal, Million Dollar Password and Power of 10.

Farewell, Minute to Win It, you have had two mild but not hugely successful years on the schedule. The highest rated episode of Minute to Win It ever on GSN came from their own version, which received a series-high 596,000 viewers on August 6, 2013. Guy Fieri's version never came close to that number, but still averaged 350,000 to 450,000 viewers in its Tuesday night block.

Fieri's version came to the schedule on July 24, 2012 and aired weekly every Tuesday night, which replaced the rerun-abused Newlywed Game. Throughout late 2012 and early 2013, Fieri's version of Minute picked up two Friday night slots (shared with The Pyramid then Improv then Baggage). Fieri's version never aired on GSN more than 13 times a week. Fieri's Minute lost the Tuesday night slot in June 2013 when GSN's own version came around and has been reduced to weekend afternoons since then.
