As you have seen from the post below, GSN's It Takes a Church premieres tonight (June 5th) at 9pm after an all new episode of American Bible Challenge at 8pm.

It Takes a Church is hosted by singer-songwriter Natalie Grant.
GSN has united with ChristianMingle (which is now advertised during American Bible Challenge) and now brings you It Takes a Church, which features members of a Christian congregation playing matchmaker in a competition to help an unattached fellow parishioner find their match. At the end of the competition, the unattached parishioner will decide which suitor to put his or her faith in. The congregant who brought the chosen suitor will win a donation for his/her church. The "donation" part sounds very familiar to American Bible Challenge.

If you have been a fan of American Bible Challenge over the past two years on GSN, It Takes a Church should interest you. If not, check it out. I've heard it's a dating show about "real people" and "very different from ABC's The Bachelor/Bachelorette". Seems to me like less reality junk and much less gimmicks than any other previous dating show.

  1. I watched the premiere last night, and I thought it was alright. There were a few times where it felt like reality, but the point of the show was the lady narrowing down the bachelors and then choosing one to become her boyfriend. There was even one point in the show that featured a game with water balloons and eggs.

I like the show, but I'd like to see how well it did in the ratings. Maybe Son of the Bronx will post the numbers from both The American Bible Challenge and It Takes a Church from last night.
