A GSN First?

Happened to be flipping through my T.V. guide over the New Year's mid-week break and happened to notice, for the first time in I can't remember how long, a huge lack of any version of Family Feud on the entire schedule.

On Tuesday (December 31st), there was zero Family Feud for an entire programming day, which is 8am to 4am (ET). Those hours were filled with classic Pyramid in daytime, The Chase in primetime and four late night hours of Baggage. Then came Wednesday (January 1st), where hours of Baggage and only Family Feud in primetime.

Over Christmas week as well, there was no Family Feud for sixteen straight hours on Christmas Day (8am to 12am Eastern).

I can't even imagine the last time this has happened with the Family Feud-filled Game Show Network of 2012 and 2013. The last time that I can probably remember anything close to this 2007 or before, when GSN just acquired the Richard Karn version and the Dawson and Combs versions were the only ones on the network. John O'Hurley Family Feud did not surface on the network until 2008. Since the Richard Karn version landed on the network, the number of Feud airings has just grown and Karn took a huge lead on GSN ratings primarily from 2007 to early 2011.

  1. Although they may seem dated by today's standards, GSN should show a Dawson/Combs pairing of Family Feud, for at least one hour on weekends.

If the network is so devoted to Family Feud as I think they are, they should at least have these two classic versions of the game somewhere on the schedule...

  2. It's strange that why GSN care more about Family Feud in recent years but it seemly doesnt make sense but I dont know if the plenty of Feud ratings will slowly put GSN back in a same perfect postive direction as they were before 2009 or not.
