It is quite a happy holiday for fans of the American version of The Chase.
There have been a few quibbles (and also note the same quibbles on Sunday/Monday this past week of It Takes a Church getting green-lit which happened Tuesday) about the renewal of The Chase. A while back, GSN posted a "Season 3 Casting" notice on their own website which is still up.
Meanwhile in its most recent new episode number (December 10th), The Chase saw a series high of 553,000 viewers, already eight percent higher than the previous series high (back in August 2013) and significantly above the previous Season 2 average, which just about matched the season 1 average. The Chase (in new runs) continues to perform around 1.5 times higher than the primetime average for GSN. Also note that The Chase has risen in new runs every week since November 12th.
A number for last night's new run (December 17th) is expected to be posted here later today.
For a third season of The Chase, the version would be "American-ized more than it has been" said one source "with some but not all changes."
This comes right off the heels of GSN green-lighting It Takes a Church. GSN has previously stated they are trying to double their original programming in 2014, while currently completed is Mind of a Man and American Bible Challenge, while Skin Wars and It Takes a Church are in the process.
