GSN by the numbers

Below are the latest stats for all GSN's shows, along with the number of appearances each show appears on the schedule per-week as of November 18-24, 2013. The average numbers for all shows are shown below, whether they contain slots at 2:30 in the afternoon or 2:30 in the middle of the night. Here they are:

Chain Reaction (10): 407,000 viewers
Catch 21 (5): 380,000 viewers
Family Feud (all versions): 313,000 viewers
     Family Feud (Harvey): 332,000 viewers
     Family Feud (O'Hurley): 303,000 viewers
     Family Feud (Karn): 270,000 viewers
The Pyramid (9): 296,000 viewers
1 vs. 100 (5): 266,000 viewers
Newlywed Game (19): 262,000 viewers
The Chase (10): 259,000 viewers
The $25,000 Pyramid (5): 259,000 viewers (highest pre-1990's)
Sale of the Century (5): 236,000 viewers
Minute to Win It (Fieri) (4): 232,000 viewers
Whammy! (4): 225,000 viewers
Baggage (22): 198,000 viewers
Press Your Luck (5): 195,000 viewers
Super Password (10): 182,000 viewers
Love Triangle (3): 172,000 viewers
The $100,000 Pyramid (5): 160,000 viewers
Dog Eat Dog (2): 147,000 viewers
Match Game (10): 146,000 viewers
Password Plus (2): 111,000 viewers

Chain Reaction and Catch 21 are at the top, primarily due to the fact that those two only appear in the afternoons, in very fine timeslots, where The Pyramid (GSN) would be in the top 3 though The Pyramid (GSN) contains some nearly-miserable Sunday slots. Otherwise, Harvey, then O'Hurley, then Karn for the Feud runs, 1 vs. 100 tops The Chase, The $25,000 Pyramid and Sale of the Century are the highest pre-1990's by far. In edition, The $25,000 Pyramid matches all runs of The Chase. Baggage seems to be slumping lately while Password Plus is trailing well behind the rest of the schedule

  1. Chain Reaction and Catch 21 average higher than Mr. Rerun?! That's great to hear!

Good to see 1 vs. 100 doing well, I guess we can say this acquisition was a success.

Love Triangle as always averages poorly, I hope this won't last long on the schedule.

I wouldn't be surprised if $100k Pyramid were to leave the schedule whenever its current lease runs out, with $25k Pyramid and The Pyramid doing well, this wouldn't surprise me.

Hopefully Dog Eat Dog will leave the schedule in July, if not sooner.

I wouldn't be surprised if Password Plus were to leave the schedule in late March-early April, though if it does, I hope GSN will put something good at 9am, preferably either another pre-1990 show, Woolery Lingo, or Jeopardy.

  2. Catch 21 and Chain Reaction only beat Family Feud due to their very favorable midday timeslots that have been there for several years now.

Otherwise, place Catch 21 or Chain Reaction 98 times a week and they'll be at the bottom of the list, next to Password Plus and Dog Eat Dog.

  3. This is one week's worth of ratings. Not really a true barometer of how each show has done overall.....

  4. when 2014 comes, ratings of Chain Reaction and The Pyramid will finally tumble in giant way if the viewers are getting tired of it once GSN decides to do anything different in my opinion. I can not see Chain Reaction & The Pyramid been aired 100 times a week or being revived once more.
