GSN Ratings October 14-20, 2013: Harvey 'Feud' first; 'Chain Reaction' second

The (somewhat better but still bad) ratings have been published for the third week of October courtesy of Douglas Pucci. Steve Harvey's Family Feud took the top 7 of 10 slots. Chain Reaction took 2nd, 5th and 6th for the whole week. Steve Harvey's Family Feud, in total, took the top 15 of 25 slots with ratings above 400,000 viewers.

Other shows in the top 25 were The Pyramid, The Newlywed Game, Catch 21 and Chain Reaction.

For the top 100, Family Feud consumed 56 slots.

  1. The highest rated Harvey Feud episode was Saturday night? So a Chain Reaction airing outranked all of Harvey's Wednesday night airings, another reason why Wednesday nights should get a change soon.

A Whammy airing ranked 39th, and Love Triangle after that was over 40 slots worse. Sure Love Triangle gets decent ratings, but I think if GSN put Woolery Lingo or Russian Roulette at 10:30am, it would maintain Whammy's good ratings and possibly improve.

Monday, Friday, and Sunday all need a change in primetime, if only GSN would listen to us and acquire 5th Grader, Millionaire, and Wheel of Fortune, those nights would(likely) improve big time.

    1. In response to the Sat. 7:30pm Harvey Feud slot, the 6-8pm airings (averaged 440K) and the 10pm-12am airings (averaged 347K), while MTWI from 8pm had 301,000 viewers and at 9pm 223,000 viewers.

Saturday night might be the only place that requires (don't hurt me!) more Family Feud. If Harvey Feud does well, why not put O'Hurley and Karn back in the 8-10pm hours?

Love Triangle produced a 289K and 183K ratings while Whammy! had very impressive 254K for all four slots (346K average Saturday). We don't know how RR would do but GSN is pretty happy with Love Triangle numbers for now, and so am I.

(Maybe Love Triangle will pop up in late-nights eventually? Very possible)

    2. Saturday nights aren't doing so well, and they'll only go lower once Dog Eat Dog starts airing there next month.

This may surprise you, but I actually want Karn and O'Hurley to take Saturday 8pm-10pm, mainly because I don't want Dog Eat Dog to air there, but I actually like Karn and O'Hurley despite their numerous timeslots.

I still think another show would do better in the 10:30am slot, preferably a show that was produced around the same time as Whammy(Russian Roulette, Woolery Lingo, etc.) I think it would do really well and possibly even improve the ratings of Sherriwed(Saturday) and The Chase(Sunday) in the 11am hour.

I prefer Love Triangle not go into late nights, but if Mr. Rerun or Baggage bomb, then it might make a little bit of sense. Though I still want to see classics back in late night.(I actually got to say Mr. Rerun and bomb in the same sentence! Sorry, but I couldn't resist.)
