GSN Ratings July 15-21, 2013: Some schedule changes work

For the third week of July, GSN averaged 356K/272K primetime/total day. Steve Harvey's Family Feud consumed the top 35 of 50 slots. Steve Harvey's Family Feud was the only version to make the top 47 in ratings and get an episode above 400,000 viewers, while Karn and O'Hurley fell shorter than normal.

Minute to Win It (Ohno) airings:
Tuesday 4:00pm: 243,000 viewers
Tuesday 5:00pm: 204,000 viewers
Tuesday 8:00pm: 481,000 viewers
Tuesday 9:00pm: 480,000 viewers
Tuesday 11:00pm: 331,000 viewers
Tuesday 12:00am: 256,000 viewers
Friday 7:00pm: 218,000 viewers
Friday 10:00pm: 255,000 viewers
Saturday 8:00pm: 194,000 viewers
Saturday 9:00pm: 189,000 viewers
Sunday 6:00pm: 314,000 viewers
Sunday 7:00pm: 277,000 viewers

Notice how this week the Saturday night reruns performed poorly, weighing down the primetime average massively more than any other night.  All other reruns did reasonably well, though.

Some schedule changes worked out decently. Press Your Luck and Sale of the Century moved up a half-hour showed improvement compared to the previous two weeks. Super Password at 9am did not show much improvement over how Press Your Luck previously did, but The $100,000 Pyramid improved over recent Lingo numbers, and Karn Feud at noon had much improved numbers compared to classic Pyramid hour.

Mid-afternoons did well, though The Pyramid did not show improvement over Lingo, but still did well. O'Hurley Feud sagged the afternoon ratings.

The highest rated classic this week was The $25,000 Pyramid on Friday with 245,000 viewers

Monday Chain Reaction (8-10PM): 239K; Karn Feud (7-8; 10-11PM): 260K; Whole night: 250K
Tuesday MTWI (Ohno) (8-10PM): 481K; Harvey Feud (7-8; 10-11PM): 434K; Whole night: 458K
Wednesday Family Feud (Harvey) (7-11PM): 519K
Thursday Newlywed Game (8-10PM): 342K; Harvey Feud (7-8; 10-11PM): 424K; Whole night: 383K
Friday Chain Reaction (8-10PM): 269K; MTWI (Ohno) (7, 10PM): 218K; 255K; Whole night: 253K
Sunday Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? (8-10PM): 360K

Chain Reaction did not turn out well on Monday nights, but the Friday night stack did alright for primetime standards, but much better than Baggage usually did. Minute to Win It its best ever on Tuesday night, while the Saturday night reruns lowered the primetime average greatly.

In total, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday nights all shined but did not do fantastic.
