GSN News Flashes for 4/18/13

A few news bits to address today...

There are a couple new photos of host Apolo Ohno on the set of GSN's Minute to Win It. The tapings finished last Friday (4/12) but a few pictures are still surfacing. One poster calls the new version "a gimmick".

GSN averaged 398K/267K for primetime/total day for the week of April 8-14. The primetime number is up from last week, while the overall average is just about flat. You can thank Steve Harvey and Jeff Foxworthy for those numbers on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday.

A few sources first noticed that the Boston auditions for The Chase were cancelled, originally scheduled for May 11th. The original audition schedule had Boston and DC for May 11th, but has now been confirmed on the casting website, and has been moved to Atlanta [DC auditions remain]

A source says Dog Eat Dog will leave the GSN schedule come July, a year-to-date after it was re-acquired by the network from a five year absence. Weekend runs average 250K-300K viewers, while some of the highest numbers have been in the upper 300K's, very impressive, beating out The Pyramid some weeks.

  1. Speaking of ratings, any idea why American Bible never makes the cable top 100 list? Does GSN participate in making the overnight ratings available? The early weeks would have definitely made the middle to lower ranks of the top 100. Seems like it would be a little bonus advertising for them.
