GSN Monday nights vs. Network primetime: Speculation

The Voice---NBC. New coaches Shakira and Usher join Adam and Blake
For the past few months, GSN has had their share of strong ratings with one of the many Karn/O'Hurley Feud blocks. The high numbers for Monday nights may decline with the additions of The Voice on NBC tonight, and also Dancing with the Stars on ABC.

Since January, The Biggest Loser aired on NBC, averaging around or less than 8 million viewers, while The Bachelor on ABC averaged around 8-9 million viewers. Now, The Voice pulls at least 12 million and Dancing with the Stars pulls upwards up 16 million, both networks together pulling 10 million more households with The Voice and Dancing with the Stars.

I don't care how well you do on ABC, just stay off GSN
So what will happen with GSN on Mondays? A good part of their core demo will go to ABC and NBC. Throughout the time last Spring and Fall when The Voice and Dancing with the Stars aired, the Karn/O'Hurley Feud block averaged no more than 300,000 viewers most of the Monday nights. Since The Voice and Dancing with the Stars' seasons ended last December, Monday nights on GSN have averaged from 300,000 to over 400,000 some weeks.

Overall, GSN loses about 20% of viewership Monday nights with The Voice and Dancing with the Stars. Nothing to be concerned about but just something to note on this quiet day.

A slow news day but I have yet to get some updates later about the new Minute to Win It. Three episodes started production today and I have two readers in studio in LA.

UPDATE: The Voice scores 13.36 million, near a series high, and Dancing with the Stars gets 14.5 million, down from other seasons but still good.
